Within months of being installed as Trump’s state media mouthpiece, err, I mean editor-in-chief of CBS News, the deeply unqualified Bari Weiss killed a fully vetted 60 Minutes report on Donald Trump’s deportations to El Salvador’s CECOT.
Weiss claimed she pulled the story because the White House had not commented, despite it being screened five times and cleared by CBS lawyers and Standards and Practices. “It is factually correct,” correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi wrote, calling the decision political, not editorial. The abuses at CECOT are established facts.
